Edward Walter Scott, widely known as Ted Scott, was born in Edmonton Alberta and raised in Vancouver.  His father was a rector.

Bishop Scott served as primate of the Anglican Church of Canada from 1971 to 1986.  He held liberal views on many key issues of his age, and was an early supporter of the ordination of women.  He died in a car accident in Ontario in 2004.

At Canterbury cathedral, twin wall tablets can be found on the south wall of the main cloisters - identical but one in English and the other in French.  Both tablets are of Bethersden Marble.
