Description

A spire is a tall pyramidal or conical feature crowning a tower or turret.

Spires on churches in Canterbury city are relatively rare. Two in Guildhall Street, on the front of the Congregational church, were removed as part of the 1878 integration of the church facade into the new Debenham's building.  Some can be found on non-eccesiastical buildings eg Abbots Barton Hotel in New Dover Road.
